Great Day, Bad Night

We had a blast at the lake with some friends last month. They have a boat complete w/grill, 3 ladders(only 2 were used) and a "bathroom"(really only a foldable area with curtains and a bucket with a trash bag inside). BigZ, Schmoo and MJ made themselves at home in the lake by playing games around the boat, playing word games and hide + go-seek while in the water. A favorite spot was under the boat(we were still above the water), and those without life-jackets used bars on the bottom of the boat to keep our heads up. They were also used for a speed boost(it's faster then swimming)during run-downs(or should I say swim-downs) in hide + go-seek. The parents sat and talked on the boat. But the big hit for all ages was, of course, the jet-skis. We cruised on the yellow one at high speeds. To make things interesting, the low-gas light was on the whole time. We ate junk food and played in the water for the whole afternoon.

Which might be the reason BigZ did not have a blast that night. Waking up a mere hour after falling asleep, he found he had something with a very revolting taste in his mouth, his upper body was a disastrous mess and his hands were lying smack in the middle of it. It was, of course(should I mention?), throw-up. He told Ree, showered, then threw-up again(thankfully in the toilet), showered again, took a sip of water, lay down, and, at 11:15, finally fell asleep. Luckily, he was perfect the next morning.

Good Times

We enjoyed the beautiful scenery. We loved the fun activities. But the best part was being together. Here are a few of my favorite pictures from Reunion 2008.

Thanks for the memories everyone! We're looking forward to 2010!

Land and Sea Adventure

We got a double dose of Disney, at the #1 vacation spot itself and on the "pirate ship". Here are some samplers of a wild overdose of Disney. But a few, especially MJ, disagree. She repeatedly asks: "When can we go back to Disney World?"
Watch out for these buccaneers. Aaarrrrggghh!!
Parasailing rocks!! Despite the ocean being a mere, oh, about a couple hundred feet deep(cannonball)you can still see the bottom.
Hello?!? You're supposed to look out, not pose in front of portholes!
Bahamian braids?! No Way! Yes, unfortunately the boys did have to stick around for 40 minutes while MJ got her hair braided, bahama style.
BigZ, Schmoo and MJ, the rulers of the land, pose with their castle in the background.
Which is the eye-catcher, Schmoo or the shiny Epcot ball?

My height: 5 feet, Giraffe height: about 20 feet.

We've been stranded!! Well, at least we brought a camera. And a cruise ship has come to rescue us.

Characters

One of the things we really enjoyed about the Disney Cruise was the increased access to the characters. This was especially exciting for MJ, who eagerly ran toward the characters whenever she spotted one, even if they happened to be posing with other people. She eventually learned to wait her turn and pose in her own photo ops. As you can see, she found plenty of them.
